A SINGLE mother from Sunderland was pursued by men looking for sex after a fake dating profile was set up in her name.
The victim Lynn Gunning was left humiliated and frightened when sex hungry men claiming to have met her on the dating site Plenty of Fish turned up at her place of work.
The fake profile falsely stated Lynn was “up for anything” and if anyone was interested in meeting her they should go to her shop where she worked as a sales assistant.
The details of the fake profile was revealed when one of the men turned up to meet Lynn at work and showed her the fake profile on his mobile phone.
Lynn said that it is easy to do as all somebody needed to complete the hoax was a photo and a sick mind.
Lynn contacted Northumbria Police, who got in touch with the website and commented on the profile stating it was fake, Plenty of Fish later removed the profile. Police are also conducting enquiries into who set the site up.
It was claimed in the fake profile that she liked, adult parties, wearing leather clothing, webcams and other sexual activities too graphic to publish.
